Wait for it

I'd like to learn french, someday I would like to attempt to climb the highest summits on each continent, I have a desire to learn to sail, karate, and how to make sushi.  I am determined to bike across the U.S. with Amy at some point in our lives.  Hopefully I'll have a chance to hike the Appalachian trail.  I've made lists and lists of things I want to do in life.  I know I have ones from when I was younger and I actually found one of them.  It's from August of 1998.

1. Visit Europe - Italy, etc.
2. Get a passport
3.  Get married
4.  Be rich
5.  Find a deserted beach put up a hammock and fall asleep watching the waves
6.  Be a mom - maybe
7.  Go to college
8.  Go to a concert
9.  Have a gorgeous wedding
10. Visit every Hawaiian island
11. Join a church and go every sunday for at least a year
12.  Read the entire Bible and understand it.
13.  Learn how to surf
14.  Find at least one sport I like and stick to it.
15.  Fall in love and have the guy love me back.
16.  Kiss someone who's name I don't know
17.  Give a guy a chance even if their not gorgeous
18.  Go skinny dipping in the ocean
19.  Live in New York
20.  Visit Maine
21.  Be a bridesmaid
22. Be a Grandma
23.  Be proposed to at the beach
24.  Be cremated
25.  Publish something of mine
26.  See the top of mount everest
27.  learn to love hiking in the mountains as much as my mom does
28. water ski
29. ski or snowboard
30.  drive a boat
31.  drive a white convertible eclipse

So weird that at 14 I created a list like that.  Even weirder the things that have changed since then and the things that are still the same.  Crazy the things that I've done from that list and so much beyond what was there.

I think it's so interesting how we change and grow as humans.  How we are capable of truly believing and desiring things and then also able to unlearn that desire based on other experiences.  Interesting that I had a maybe next to be a mom even then.

So...I'm thankful I'm the type of person that takes time to write things like this down.  Thankful for Alison my other sister.  Thankful for opportunity and growth.  And thankful for him.
